Arizona Sunnyside Unified School District

In this unit we focus on SUSD’s strategy to use formative assessment as a mechanism for strengthening student learning, instruction, and leadership practice. You can explore an array of artifacts about SUSD’s formative assessment work to learn how SUSD has engaged in sustained efforts over the past 6 years to develop a culture of district-wide learning and to what effect. You will learn about the various challenges and accomplishments (from a variety of perspectives) in the work to develop and enact new structures, routines, and practices within the district. The perspectives of students, teachers, principals, and district administrators are offered.
